Atmega8 firmware can write and read to all 256 registers. Real chip can only write to 15 registers, for others it return 255 in read mode.
Also real chip has differencies for registers 14 and 15. These registers are accessible when bits 6 (for register 14) and 7 (for register 15) set in register 7, in other cases chip returns 255.
